Presidential
Search

Washington State University

October 23, 2024

Dear WSU community,

The Board of Regents and the Presidential Search Advisory Committee (PSAC) have been working on the presidential search since our last update in September, and we are on track for an announcement in early 2025. At the September board meeting, we approved the Presidential Leadership Profile. The profile is available online or as a PDF. Since that meeting, the position has been widely advertised and the profile has been circulated to potential candidates and those who may know of candidates.

The PSAC met earlier this month to conduct an initial review of potential candidates and provide feedback to our search firm colleagues. Interested candidates came from a wide variety of backgrounds including presidents, deans, provosts, and leaders in higher education and other organizations. We are pleased that the interest in this role has been very strong, and the pool of candidates is deep, diverse, and well-qualified.

The PSAC will interview candidates in November. They expect to recommend a small number of candidates to the Board of Regents by the end of the calendar year.

Thank you, again, for all the great work that you do on behalf of Washington State University and for your ongoing support throughout this search process.

Sincerely,

Lisa Keohokalole Schauer
